sailing yacht on which to Blue Cruise in Turkey or Greece? Are you thinking of a yacht charter

Turkey remaining in Turkey? One or the other or something else, Nauss may be the yacht for you.
A forty-foot cutter built to sail, she has accommodations for two guest couples or for a small
family, while her skipper is as familiar with the Aegean and south coast of Turkey as, well,
is almost as familiar with the Aegean and south coast of Turkey as was Francis Beaufort.
Beaufort, it should be noted, surveyed the Aegean and southern coast of Turkey for the British
Admiralty. Already of some renown for his 1806 wind and sea scale still in use today, Beaufort
in command of H.M.S. Frederickssteen was in 1811 and 1812 directed to chart the eastern Aegean
and the coast of "Karamania" from Knidos to Alexandretta. His surveys and soundings
were so accurate they remained the basis for marine charts of this area until as recently as
1976. The Frederickssteen from which Beaufort took his lead soundings and celestial fixes was
a 32-gun frigate captured from the Danes at the Battle of Copenhagen, and Beaufort on several
occasions had use for those guns, on one occasion in the Gulf of Iskenderun taking a near
fatal musket ball in the groin. The south coast of Turkey at the time was a pirate haunt
controlled by war lords, not by the Ottoman Porte in Istanbul, and had regressed to such a
degree that it was termed Karamania in deference to its pre-Ottoman rulers. Long before the
Karamanids this coast had been ruled by the Ptolemy dynasty in Egypt of whom Cleopatra was the
last. She cruised here on at least two occasions, first in 46 BC en route to Rome to plead
Egypt's case before the senate, and again in 32 BC en route to Actium on the far side of
mainland Greece. On both occasions she was alert to earlier pirates. Today there are no
pirates. At least, not in the traditional sense of the word. Would you like to charter a
sailing yacht to cruise in Frederickssteen's wake? Or to sail Cleopatra's routes along the
coasts of Lycia and Caria and among Scattered Islands of the Aegean? While you honeymoon or
holiday? Would you like to have a honeymoon or holiday proceeding leisurely from enchanting
locale to historical crossroads? Starting in Gocek? Are you searching for Gocek in Turkey? For
Fethiye in Turkey? Well, in Gocek or Fethiye or elsewhere we can put you aboard a crewed sailing
yacht for the holiday of a lifetime. We can put you aboard a charter yacht with skipper or with
skipper and crew to show you the flat sailing waters of the Gulfs of Gocek and Fethiye, to show
you Beaufort's tracks down the coast of Karamania, to show you Cleopatra's Route up the coast of
Asia Minor and among Greek islands. A superb sailing yacht available for charter in Turkey.
